Writing task: Write a complaints letter about one of the following.
  • a bad pop concert
  • poor holiday accommodation

Plan:

Final text:

Dear Sir/Madam,
I'm writing this email to complain about the Justin Bieber concert celebrated last weekend in Barcelona which cost 200€. The advertisement said that it will be 3 hours of the best music and free and tasty drinks. Unfortunately what it says is completely wrong.

In the first place, the stage was extremely small and there weren't seats enough for all. We arrived on time but we had no seats available, so we had to stand up for 3 hours. Then, when we decided to have a drink, they only had sparkling water and it said “drinks”.

Secondly, we thought that Justin Bieber was a good pop singer because of the recommendations and publicity, but our ears ended up extremely damaged by that terrible sound, which was really frustrating, because we had payed for good music.

As a result, the concert wasn't as we expected and completely different as it said in the advertisement. I am enclosing this letter and I would appreciate an apology from the organisers and a refund. I look forward to receiving it in a near future.
